Standard PC RAM Upgrade Configurator - Select your DDR3 Type
We have a complete range of DDR3 memory available. For you to find the right module lets start with the speed of the DDR3 memory module that is already installed. Please note to guarantee compatibility we advise to match the new DDR3 memory upgrade speed with the existing DDR3 memory.
Please select a speed:
1066Mhz also known as PC3-8500
1333Mhz also known as PC3-10600
The easiest way is to download a simple software program that scans your system hardware. We recommend CPU-Z. Find out more
here or you can find the download
hereOnce the scan is complete, there should be noted in slot what memory is installed. One of the numbers should correspond to the descriptions above. Not sure? Call our staff on 1800-289-726.
It is dependent on the computer system not on the type of memory. Most computers will slow a module and run it at the correct speed. However it is not a 100% guarantee. We ship hundreds of modules every day, we need to ship the right speed to guarantee compatibility. Please match your speed memory.
This is a common misconception. A faster module will not run faster. It will run as fast as the slowest memory installed. So if you have 1066Mhz installed, a 1333Mhz memory will only run the speed of a 1066Mhz memory RAM. However, extra memory will make the computer run faster!
The quick answer is no, DDR3 is a completely new technology of RAM and is not able to be used in computers that require DDR or DDR2 memory. DDR3 memory has been designed to not fit into DDR2 or DDR memory sockets to prevent damage from occuring to your computer.
